Telegram is the hardest place to get leaked content removed. Public channels can be reported, but responses are slow and unreliable, private groups are largely out of reach, and a channel that is closed often reappears under a new name. This guide sets out the routes that exist, as published by Telegram (checked 22 October 2026), and how to make each report count.
The three routes
| Route | What it is for | What to include |
|---|---|---|
| In-app report | Public channels and individual messages | Choose the copyright or illegal content reason |
| dmca@telegram.org | Copyright complaints | Links to the messages (t.me links), description of your work, your contact details, the statements of a DMCA notice |
| @EURegulation bot | Users in the EU: single point of contact under the Digital Services Act | Same content; mention that you are reporting illegal content under the DSA |
The elements of a copyright notice are the same everywhere. Our free DMCA notice generator builds one you can paste into the email.
Make each report count
- Collect message links, not just the channel. Right-click or long-press a message and copy its link. A list of message links is much easier to act on than "this channel".
- Screenshot with date. Keep a record before reporting, because channels disappear and reappear.
- Report the channel and the messages. Both, separately.
- Note the date and route of every report in one list. You will need it if you escalate.
Telegram states it may dismiss reports with insufficient information, so be specific.
What usually does not work
- Private groups. Without an invite you cannot even document them properly.
- Fast results. Many reports go unanswered for a long time. We do not give a figure, because there is no reliable one.
- Closing the source. A closed channel is often mirrored within days.
What to do in parallel
- Get it out of Google. Leaked Telegram content is often indexed through mirror sites. See removing leaks from Google.
- Report to OnlyFans. OnlyFans has a team that issues DMCA notices free of charge for creators; the first steps are in our leak removal guide.
- Find the source. If one buyer leaks, your watermark can show who. Use the OnlyFans watermark or our watermark studio for content sent elsewhere.
When it keeps coming back
If the same content keeps reappearing, the work becomes weekly. For creators we manage, a partner provider checks daily and files the notices (content protection). A free leak check shows how big the problem is before you decide.
Questions creators ask
How do I report copyright infringement on Telegram?
Use the in-app report on the channel or message and email a copyright complaint to dmca@telegram.org with links to the messages, a description of your work and your contact details. Users in the EU can also use Telegram's DSA contact route, the @EURegulation bot.
Why does Telegram not remove leaked content?
Many reports go unanswered or take a long time, and private groups are much harder to act on than public channels. Report anyway, document everything, and focus on what can be removed elsewhere, such as search results.
