Reddit is one of the few large platforms that allow labelled adult content, which makes it a direct route to buyers. It is also a platform built on communities that dislike being advertised to. For an established account, that means the question is not "how do I post more" but "how do I post without putting the account at risk". The rules below are from Reddit's own content policy and help pages, checked on 22 October 2026.
What Reddit's rules say
- Label sexually explicit content NSFW. Reddit's content policy asks users to label content and communities, particularly content that is sexually explicit.
- Do not spam. The policy asks users to participate authentically and not to spam. Posting the same link across many communities is the classic spam signal.
- Community rules come first. Each community creates and enforces its own rules: on promotion, posting frequency, verification and which content fits.
- Consent is absolute. Posting intimate media of anyone without their consent is prohibited.
Verification
Many adult communities require verification before you can post: typically a photo with your username and the community's name on paper, sent to the moderators. It protects against stolen content and fake accounts, including people posting your content. Verify in the communities that matter to you, and keep a list of where you are verified.
Posting without spam signals
| Signal | Why it hurts | Better |
|---|---|---|
| The same post in many communities within minutes | Looks automated | Fewer communities, chosen for fit, spread over time |
| Only links, never comments | Looks like advertising | Take part in the communities you post in |
| Brand-new account with heavy posting | New accounts are watched more closely | Build account history first |
| Ignoring a community's rules | Removal and bans | Read the rules and pinned posts first |
Shadowban check
A shadowban hides your posts from everyone but you. To check: open your profile in a private window, logged out. If it does not show, or your recent posts do not appear in the community, the account is likely restricted. Reddit has an appeals page for account actions. Before you appeal, stop posting from the account so you do not make it worse.
Reddit within your channel mix
Give Reddit its own OnlyFans tracking link and compare it with your other channels after 30 and 90 days, as described in our traffic comparison. Reddit tends to bring fans who saw your content first, which can mean higher spending per subscriber. It also means your content travels: watermark what you post (watermark studio) and keep an eye on where it ends up (free leak check).
For the other channels, see X and Instagram.
Questions creators ask
Is it allowed to promote OnlyFans on Reddit?
Reddit allows sexually explicit content if it is labelled NSFW and posted in communities that allow it. Each community sets its own rules on promotion and verification, and Reddit's content policy prohibits spam, so read every community's rules before posting.
How do I know if I am shadowbanned on Reddit?
Open your profile in a private browser window while logged out. If it shows as not found while you can see it logged in, the account is likely shadowbanned. You can appeal through Reddit's appeals page.
